Privacy policy
This policy explains what [Your organization] ("we", "us") collects when you use Streame, the live
streaming service at https://streame.kelbonet.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Streame is used by
organizations (churches, schools, businesses) to send their live video to platforms such as YouTube,
Facebook and Twitch, and to set the title and description of their live streams.
Who this applies to
- Users: people with a Streame account, made for them by their organization's administrator.
- Connected accounts: YouTube, Facebook or Twitch accounts that an organization connects to Streame.
People who only watch the live streams on YouTube, Facebook or Twitch don't use Streame and aren't
covered here: each platform's own privacy policy applies to them.
What we collect
| What | Why | Where it comes from |
|---|
| Username, name, and (if given) e-mail, phone and job title | To sign you in and let your administrator manage your account | Your administrator, or you in My profile |
| Your role and organization | To show you only your organization's streams and allow only what your role allows | Your administrator |
| Sources and destinations: names, addresses, stream keys | To receive your video and send it where you choose | You or your organization |
| Live titles and descriptions | To set them on the platforms you send to | You or your organization |
| Activity: sign-ins and changes, with the time and the user | Security, support and accountability | Streame records it |
| Connected accounts (see below) | To set titles and descriptions on the platform | The platform, after you allow it |
We don't collect payment details, we don't track you across other websites, and we don't sell, rent or
share your data for advertising.
Google and YouTube data
When your organization connects a YouTube account, you sign in with Google and allow Streame to manage
your YouTube account (the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube). With that permission, Streame:
- Reads the channel's ID and name (to show which channel is connected), and the channel's upcoming
and live broadcasts and their streams (only to find the broadcast that uses your destination's stream
key).
- Changes the title and description of that broadcast, to what you wrote in Streame.
- Stores on our server: the channel's ID and name, and the access and refresh tokens Google gives us.
It does not store your videos, broadcasts, comments, subscribers, analytics or any other YouTube data.
- Does nothing else: it doesn't upload, delete or publish videos, doesn't start or end broadcasts, and
doesn't read anything not listed above.
Limited Use. Streame's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will
adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the feature described
above, is never transferred to others (except as needed to provide that feature, for security, or as the
law requires), is never used for advertising, and is never read by people unless you ask us to (for
support), for security, or as the law requires.
YouTube API Services. Streame uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube account you agree to
the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is covered by
the Google Privacy Policy.
Taking access back. You can take Streame's access back at any time on Google's security settings page:
https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions,
or by removing the account in Streame ▸ Online accounts (which also gives the permission back to Google).
Facebook and Twitch data
- Facebook: Streame stores your Facebook user ID and name, the Pages you chose when signing in (their IDs,
names and access tokens), and uses them only to find the Page's live video that uses your destination's
stream key and to set its title and description. Take access back in Facebook ▸ Settings & privacy ▸
Settings ▸ Business integrations, or remove the account in Streame.
- Twitch: Streame stores your Twitch user ID and name and its access and refresh tokens, and uses them only
to set your channel's stream title. Take access back in Twitch ▸ Settings ▸ Connections, or remove the
account in Streame.
Cookies
Streame stores sign-in cookies on your device to keep you signed in (one for Streame, one for the admin
portal, one for the OBS dock). They hold no personal information, are used only by Streame, and end when you
sign out or your sign-in times out. Your browser may also remember small settings (such as a collapsed menu)
on your device. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
How we keep it safe
- Streame runs on our own server. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes; sign-ins time out after a
period without use.
- Access tokens and stream keys are kept on the server and never shown to other organizations. Each
organization sees only its own data.
- Connections from the internet use HTTPS.
How long we keep it
- Connected accounts: until the account is removed in Streame, or the permission is taken back on the
platform. Removing an account deletes its tokens from the live server at once and gives the
permission back to the platform. If Streame finds the permission was taken back, the account is marked
"Reconnect needed" and its tokens are no longer used.
- Your account and your organization's streams: until your administrator removes them.
- Activity: until an administrator clears it.
- Backups: our backups of the server are kept for up to 30 days and then replaced, so
removed data disappears from them within that time.
Your choices
- See or correct your profile in Streame ▸ My profile, or ask your organization's administrator.
- Delete a connected account: Streame ▸ Online accounts ▸ Remove (operators and Tech), or take the
access back on the platform as described above.
- Delete your account or your organization's data: ask your organization's administrator, or write to us
at [contact e-mail]. We delete it from the live server within 7 days of your request and from
backups within 30 days, and confirm by e-mail.
Sharing
We share data only:
- with the platforms you choose to send to (your video, and the titles and descriptions you write);
- with your organization's administrators, who manage your account;
- when the law requires it, or to protect the security of the service and its users.
Children
Streame is a tool for organizations and isn't meant for children under 13. Accounts are made by an
organization's administrator.
